About

When somebody gets up earlier when they are on holiday than when they’re working, you can tell they are keen landscape photographers. Jan and David Harris both fall into that group, and our life revolves around where and when we can go to take photographs next.

Our blog and website are named after our love of soft, misty dawns like this:

Our landscape images vary from the classic wide landscape to the detail ‘inner’ landscape. We also take macro, abstract and urban scenes. Wildlife we do rarely unless you count a few butterflies and flowers…

    Dear David and Jan,
    We hope this contact finds you well.
    Janet and I are spending long lockdown hours processing and thinning a million photos taken over 3 decades!.
    I am currently doing Utah 2010 (with you), Over 20,000 images (Whew!) but none of the campsite, caravan, truck or RZRs (except the ones you took for me whilst driving.
    Do you have any? And if so would you be prepared to let me have some (full size) as I am building my shows into blocks of files for my media player and there is nothing of the Paria Ranch on the internet. I think film was too precious in its day and that mentality lingers! So we didn’t waste shots!

      Hello! Yes we’re fine. Hopefully you both are too? We’ve just looked through all our images from that trip and the main thing I’ve learned is that there are loads of decent looking images that we’ve never processed. All of the RZR and people type images were shot on your Canon 1Ds or G11 so I assume you have those. I can’t find any others – we were obviously too busy taking award winners (I wish)! There were a couple of RZR images in those as well as the in-vehicle shots. Let me know if you need me to send those if you can’t find them.

        Good to hear that you and Jan are fine! Jan will delighted to hear that finally after 30 years I am doing what she told me to do – and teaching that Physics is everywhere! I suspect she would be better at it than me – but I plod on! Best Wishes Cassandra Wye

        Good Lord – did I read correctly?Dave is FINALLY admitting that Jan is usually right! Wow! Now that is the first time ever that I have agreed with you! Life would have been a lot simpler for both of us if we have realised this earlier! Am fine, thanks. Its been a grim year for family and friends but still hanging on in there. Have embraced working online and may never move again.Hope all is OK with you both and your families?
